Pylons & Dragonberry

Early Friday morning of last week, a critical exploit was discovered in the Cosmos SDK that affected the entire ecosystem. Out of an abundance of caution, and in concert with the vast majority of other Cosmos chains, Pylons put a halt on our chain and took the chain itself and apps offline so we could review internally. Afterward, we had found that there was no security issue on our networks and are working to resume activity with our validators - we expect to be fully back online by tomorrow (10/18).

Pylons is fundamentally different than every other blockchain and is built to be resistant to exactly these types of attacks. Specifically, the Pylons chain does not have a native cryptocurrency and there's nothing on chain vulnerable to theft or hacking. As such, everyone's content is entirely secure.

The downtime caused by the Dragonberry exploit gave us the perfect opportunity to perform major upgrades to the chain that were already planned for this week and we are now one step closer to mainnet as a result!

In all, this also allowed us to test our response to situations like this in the future and proved that we are well prepared to handle these issues without exposing our users to any risk of being hacked.

We appreciate your patience during this time and can't wait to show you the new features we have in store as well as talk more on our upcoming crowdfund in next weeks update.

Be sure to join our Discord to be a part of everything we're building!

Mainnet soon!
